Friday Golf Recap – Tiger Shoots a 63

Another exciting day of golf, with several interesting stories to talk about here. Let’s jump right into it.

At the Buick Open, the big story of the day was Tiger Woods. Of course, that’s no surprise, but Tiger did surprise us by rebounding big time to shoot an incredible 63 for the day, and put himself tied for 5th for the tournament at 10-under par. Quite a step up from the tie for 95th from yesterday.

John Senden is your current leader at 14-under par after shooting a 66 in the second round. Michael Letzig is at 12-under, while Vaughn Taylor and Ben Lunde are one shot back at 11-under par.

Meanwhile, at the Senior U.S. Open, and amateur is atop the leaderboard, as Tim Jackson shot a 67 for the day to go to 11-under for the championship, which is the lowest second round total in the tournament’s history.

Joey Sindelar is one shot back, and Fred Funk is only two shots back. First round leader Greg Norman shot a 70 today, and is currently at 9-under for the tournament.

And at the Women’s British Open, your leaders are Catriona Matthew and Guilia Sergas who are both at 3-under par for the championship. Yuko Mitsuka is one shot back, while Song-Hee Kim is two shots off the lead.

    Weekend predictions? Woods goes low again.
    Tom Lehman would be a good story if he won.
    What happened to Daly?

    Yeah I think Woods wins the tournament now.

    As for Daly, well, he seemed to have played just awful with that 88 he shot yesterday. I thought he was sort of getting back on the right track, but yesterday’s round may have set him back quite a bit again. Kind of sad to see.

    Article on ESPN says that he may consider retirement. Doubt that it’s true given his money troubles.
