So another golfing Saturday has come and gone, and to no one’s surprise, Tiger Woods is leading a tournament.
Woods shot a 65 today at the Buick Open to go along with the 63 from yesterday to put him atop the leaderboard at 17-under par, while Michael Letzig bogeyed the 18th to set him one behind Tiger heading into the final round on Sunday.
John Senden is at 15-under, while Matt Bettencourt and Vaughn Taylor are both three shots off the lead.
Other notables:
Woody Austin -12
Billy Mayfair -11
David Duval -9
Jim Furyk -9
Justin Leonard -8
Rocco Mediate E (shot a 79 today, after shooting 68 and 69)
And over at Crooked Stick, the U.S. Senior Open has some familar names towards the top of the leaderboard, with Fred Funk being your leader at 54 holes. Funk shot a 68 for today’s round moving him to 13-under for the championship.
Meanwhile, Greg Norman also fired a 68 today, which put him one shot back of Funk at 12-under. Joey Sindelar is also at 12-under, while second round leader Tim Jackson (a) shot a 73 in the third round, putting him three shots back heading into Sunday.
Other notables:
Mark O’Meara -9
Tom Lehman -6
Jay Haas -5
Loren Roberts -3
And lastly, the Women’s British Open will conclude tomorrow, with Catriona Matthew trying to push away the rest of the field, as she currently sits at 4-under par for the tournament.
Christina Kim is in second at 1-under, while Ji Ya Shin and Ai Miyazato are both at even par for the championship.
Other notables:
Mika Miyazato +1
Song-Hee Kim +1
Paula Creamer +2
Karrie Webb +4
Cristie Kerr +6
Michelle Wie +7
Lorena Ochoa +8
Definitely setting up for a good finish at the Buick and at the U.S. Senior Open. Not so sure about the Women’s British though, as Matthew has really played well thus far. It would be nice to see Christina Kim make a run at her down the stretch.
I’d say Tiger is sitting in a pretty good spot though. And hopefully Norman and Funk will battle it out until the final hole tomorrow.
Have a good night everyone!
