It was yet another interesting day of action at the PGA Championship today, with a few guys making a run at current leader, Tiger Woods.
Woods shot a 1-under 71 for the day, and seemed to kind of go back and forth the entire today. While he wasn’t losing shots or anything like that, he just didn’t really have the same chances to score low that he did the previous two days of action.
As for the rest of the field, some guys who were chasing faded, and others made the best of an average day for Tiger.
Padraig Harrington shot 3-under par for the day, and now only sits two behind Tiger at 6-under for the championship. Harrington only bogeyed one hole for the day, and made four impressive birdies.
Another guy who had a very effective day was Y.E. Yang, who shot an outstanding 5-under par for the day, with three birdies each on the front and back nine to go along with only one bogey for the round. Yang also sits in second place, two shots behind Woods.
U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover is also still in contention, shooting a 71 today and currently sitting four shots off the lead. Henrik Stenson made a big move as well, shooting a 68 for the round, and put himself in a tie with Glover.

QUICK NOTES:
- Well it looks like it’s going to be Woods vs. Harrington again on a Sunday. They sure lived up to the hype last week, and I’m betting they will do the same tomorrow. I can’t wait.
- Really thought Ian Poulter would be one of the guys who would make a run at Tiger today, but Poulter finished with a 76 on the day, and is now all the way back at +2 for the tournament.
- Yeah. That Kenny Perry pick? Not looking so good. He’ll probably need to shoot in the 50s tomorrow to have a chance. It’s fine. I still have hope.
- PGA professional Grant Sturgeon was a great story the last few days, as he sat at even par heading into today, and somewhat still in contention. However, he shot a 78 today to end any hope of contending. Oh well, it’s still a good performance considering it’s his first major championship.
I’m looking forward to the final round tomorrow, as it should be another excellent Sunday finish. And that’s all a golf fan can ask for.
Have a great night everyone! And enjoy the final round tomorrow at Hazeltine!
