LPGA Loses a Big Event

Off the heels of a great golf tournament, the LPGA tour has lot a pretty big event. It was announced today that the Michelob Ultra Open at Kingsmill is losing its sponsorship, therefore there will be no more event.
Here’s the AP story on the announcement.
While this isn’t good news, as the tour seems to keep losing tournaments, hopefully they can cash in on some new sponsors, and try to bring more events to the schedule.
I think the Solheim Cup will help them gain a few new sponsors here and there, but we’ll see just how large the impact is when we get around to the 2010 schedule.
