Sad News On Two Different Fronts Today
A few different stories caught my eye in the golfing world today, and neither one of them is very good.
For starters, Kenny Perry’s mother passed away yesterday after a battle with cancer. If you’ve read my blog at all, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of his, and was heartbroken to see him fall like he did at the Masters earlier this season. But I can’t imagine what he’s going through right now. Definitely a tough loss for Kenny and his entire family.
His family has requested that he still play in the Presidents Cup and he has said that he will do just that. Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Perry family, and hopefully he’ll be able to take his mind off some things when he hits the golf course next week.
And also, it’s being reported that Greg Norman and Chris Evert have officially split. I’ve gotta say that I definitely did not see that one coming. Anytime you’ve seen these two, they’ve seemed like the happiest couple in the world. Chris was rooting him on at the British Open last year, and things seemed to be all good.
So I’m a little shocked by that, as I didn’t expect it from those two.
