A an event that is always fun began today, as the PGA Grand Slam got underway with Lucas Glover shooting a course record to take the early lead.
Here’s the AP story on the day’s action.
In case you don’t know, the event pits the four major winners of the year in what can be seen as a best of the best showdown. Glover clearly had a nice round today, shooting the record 65 at Port Royal Golf Course.
Stewart Cink also played well, and is only two shots back. Meanwhile, Masters winner Angel Cabrera and PGA Champion Y.E. Yang didn’t play particularly well, and shot 70 and 71, respectively.
I always like to follow this event as it’s intriguing to watch the major winners play against each other. Glover is clearly a rising star in the golfing world, and he’s shown that once again to start this tournament.
