Tiger Loses Accenture Sponsorship
We all wondered who would be the first big-time sponsor to jump off of the Tiger Woods bandwagon completely, and if your guess was Accenture, then you were correct. Accenture has officially cut ties with the world’s greatest golfer.
This should come as no shocker to anyone, as it was only a matter of time before a major sponsor decided to rid itself of Tiger. Given all that has happened over the past few weeks, someone had to be the first to take a stand against Tiger’s indiscretions, and Accenture was the first sponsor that chose to take that stand.
I would expect that another sponsor will eventually drop Woods from its’ campaign, but I doubt that there will be a ton of sponsors to do this. Some will probably pull back on the Tiger ads, but it doesn’t seem like the majority of them are going to let it disrupt their marketing and advertising of golf’s best player.
We’ll have to see what else, or who else, comes out concerning all of this Tiger mess, and then we’ll go from there in determining what other sponsors might pull out. But for now, it looks like Accenture may be the largest sponsor that Tiger loses in this entire deal.
