With all the hype heading into the Farmers Insurance Open being focused on the return of Phil Mickelson to the course for the first time in 2010, we should have known that someone would fly in under the radar and take the lead after day one at Torrey Pines. And that person was Scott Piercy.

A lot of talk has been made heading into this PGA Tour season about the new wedges that have to be used in order to comply with the new rule put in place. Well, there have been some rumors going around that Phil Mickelson is thinking about using his old wedges for this week’s event.

When we all found out that Tiger Woods would be taking a leave of absence, there was a lot of talk about who could be the young guy that would step up in his place, and have a great year on the tour. While I think there will be a young player that will breakout, there’s still another guy that I think will have the biggest year. And that’s Phil Mickelson.

Ogilvy Wins the SBS Championship

Well, I just knew I was going to put all the pressure on Lucas Glover with my post yesterday, in which I gloated about picking him to win the tournament. So of course, Glover fades in the final round, and none other than Geoff Ogilvy steps up to claim the victory.

My Pick On Top Heading Into the Final Round at Kapalua

I really don’t want to jinx it right here, but that just may happen. I picked Lucas Glover to win the SBS Championship, and heading into the final round, that pick is looking pretty good right now. Glover has a one-shot lead over Geoff Ogilvy in Kapalua.
