AT&T Drops Tiger

Just when we thought a lot of this Tiger Woods-related stuff was over, another sponsor has come out and decided to drop Woods from their campaign. This time, it’s AT&T.

Again, we all knew this would happen again at some point. However, I’m not sure we all expected it to be this long. Accenture made this decision a while ago, but I suppose that AT&T was just waiting to see what else came out in this whole situation.

While this may be newsworthy, it’s not that big of a deal in my opinion. Tiger still has the support of some of his biggest sponsors, and I honestly don’t remember him being used all that much by AT&T anyways. So this shouldn’t be that big of a loss in comparison to what all he has went through the past month or so.

We’ll wait and see if the drop by AT&T pushes others to completely drop Woods, instead of just scaling back on their marketing and advertising campaigns that involve him. I really wouldn’t expect many other big-time names to do anything else about this, unless of course more and more starts to come out on the whole Woods’ situation.
