My Pick On Top Heading Into the Final Round at Kapalua

AUTHOR: Blake Lovell | IN: SBS Championship | COMMENTS: None Yet |

I really don’t want to jinx it right here, but that just may happen. I picked Lucas Glover to win the SBS Championship, and heading into the final round, that pick is looking pretty good right now. Glover has a one-shot lead over Geoff Ogilvy in Kapalua.

I hate to keep saying the same thing over and over, but Glover is my pick for the guy that could become a household name by the end of the season. I knew this guy had a shot to be great after the U.S. Open win last season, but his game just hasn’t seemed to fall off a whole lot since that point. Golfers will always have ups and downs, and Glover has certainly had more ups than downs in the last year or so.

I’ve predicted that Glover would win another major this year, and I’m sticking with that. Granted, it’s just one tournament, but you can already tell that he’s very confident with his game right now, and he could have a big season ahead.

It’s also nice to see Ogilvy starting off the season well, as he’s always had the potential to be dangerous on tour, but it just didn’t seem like he could get a whole lot going last season. Regardless of what happens in the final round of the SBS, it’s at least a good way to start the season, and help him build a little momentum early on.

We’ll see how the final round plays out, but I’d sure like to see Glover hang on for the victory.
