Palmer Hangs On to Win the Sony Open

Despite the fact that there were some pretty good players right on his tail at the final round of the Sony Open, Ryan Palmer found a way to pick up the victory in Hawaii, by holding off Robert Allenby.

Palmer birdied the 18th hole to give him the one-shot win over Allenby, who shot a 67 on the day. Palmer’s 66 would give him the win however, and I’d say he probably surprised some people by being able to hold off the crew that was charging behind him.

Steve Stricker finished two shots behind the leader, while Retief Goosen made the biggest surge of the day, shooting an 8-under 62, but still left him three shots behind at the end of the final round.

Congrats to Palmer on a job well done!
