Appleby to Get a New Caddie

As we get ready for yet another big week in professional golf, there’s a caddy change that might be of some interest to golf fans around the world. Stuart Appleby will be changing caddies after this week’s event, with him parting ways with his long-time caddy Joe Damiano.

Damiano has been Appleby’s caddy for 13 years now, but Appleby has decided to go in a different direction now, with his replacement being Scott Sajitnac, who has been caddying for Paul Goydos.

Anytime a guy makes a change after this long of a stint with one caddy, you know that things just aren’t working anymore. I’ve always liked Appleby, and thought of him as a guy that always has the potential to break out and win a big tournament. It’ll be interesting to see how this change goes for him, as I’m sure there may be a few bumps in the road early on. But that’s to be expected when you’ve had one caddy for so long.

Hopefully Appleby can find some success on tour this season, as with Tiger out, this is certainly a chance for some top-named guys who maybe haven’t been all that successful in recent years to retool their game, and win a big tournament.

Maybe this caddy change is exactly what Appleby needs to get his play back to where it used to be.
