Ladies and Gentlemen, Masters Week is Upon Us!

Now that the Shell Houston Open has come to a close, and Anthony Kim has another win under his very impressive belt, it’s time to turn our attention to one thing and one thing only, THE MASTERS!

For golf fans, it just doesn’t get any better than this. It is a tradition unlike any other, and it’s the most anticipated golf tournament each and every year, with it setting the tone for the year ahead in professional golf. The Masters is the kind of event that everyone watches. Not just the hardcore golf fan. It has a different type of feeling to it, and it’s been known to turn a casual golf fan into a hardcore golf fan (yes, that would be a reference to myself). You may not know what tournament you’re watching some weeks just by turning on the TV, but you know the Masters when you see it.

Each and every year, the Masters usually gives us a great storyline. Last year, it was Kenny Perry‘s quest for a major championship, when ended in major disappointment. A few years ago, it was Trevor Immelman coming from out of nowhere to dominate Augusta, and leave everyone else a few shots behind. This year, there’s so many different possibilities. With Tiger Woods returning, you know that all the attention will be turned to him, which could make this the most watched golf tournament in the history of the game. But fans will also be treated to other possible storylines that could make this a memorable weekend.

How about Ernie Els‘ shot at a third victory already this season? What if Phil Mickelson can finally retain that green jacket once again? Then there’s a guy like Fred Couples, who is excelling on the Champions Tour. What if he can find success once again at Augusta? Or how about the young guys who are seeking their first major, such as Kim and Camilo Villegas? There are stories all over the place.

So of course, we’re going to have plenty of coverage this week here on Pro Golf Now, as we get you ready for the first round on Thursday. We’ll have sleeper picks, tournament predictions, Masters memories, Tiger analysis, and much, much more in store for you this week, as it’s certainly the biggest week of the year for golf fans.
