Tiger Loses Estimated $22 Million in Endorsements from 2009 to 2010

A few days ago, we talked about Tiger Woods’ video game taking a huge hit in terms of sales from last year to this year. Now let’s take a look at how Tiger’s endorsements have fared since the affairs heard round the world. I’ll give you one guess as to whether he gained or lost money during this whole process.

It turns out that Tiger has lost somewhere around $22 million in endorsement money since this whole scandal started wrecking his life. While that may seem like a big deal on the surface, if we take a look at the numbers, you’ll know that Tiger is still doing quite fine in the financial department.

In 2009, his endorsements were estimated at around $128 million, but now we know that the number has gone down to over $90 million. But although he’s lost several million, the man is still racking in some cash when it comes to sponsors. I think he’ll be just fine.

Still though, it’s clear that the transgressions are taking a toll on him financially in a lot of different areas. Whether it be the video game industry, sponsors, or his wife asking for $750 million in the couple’s divorce, Tiger’s financial situation simply isn’t what it was before that post-Thanksgiving car accident.

And it probably never will be.

Even with a $22 Million loss, Tiger Woods is still one of the world’s highest paid athletes. But Elin Nordegren now stands to make millions from endorsement deals of her own.

The Tiger Woods infidelity scandal has given Elin’s name worldwide recognition, thus making it, and her a marketable commodity. Offers have already started coming in.
