Hacking Around the Web: 11/26/11

Here’s a handful of intriguing information that hit the internet this past week…

So Greg Norman will not be returning as the captain for the International Team at the next Presidents Cup. That doesn’t shock me one bit. His criticism of the format, only having two picks and the right of deferral were only a small number of items where the Shark may have hit a nerve or two.

Don’t get me wrong. There really are other issues that face the International team that are not format related.

I’m wondering if he’d feel this way if the Internationals had won.

Did you get enough talk about Tiger Woods during the Presidents Cup? If not, here’s a nifty timeline of how he has attempted to recover from all the hoopla that surrounded his off the course issues.

Fascinating? You bet!

Are you enjoying the coverage of the World Cup? Don’t get used to the format as it will be changing for 2013. Not a fan of foursomes or fourball? No worries then…

Have you heard? Lee Westwood will be a member of the PGA TOUR next year. That may prove to put a little twist on the whole Rors-Chubby deal as well. Do you think Westwood will have a little incentive to doing well? I bet he does. Recall that that the world’s #3 player called McIlroy’s decision to leave Chandler “bizarre”.

In a move that could even place a broader scope on the PGA, commish Tim Finchem would like to expand his product…to Asia. Don’t go scoffing at this as it could well be a possibility. As always, there are details that need to be approved and finalized, but with the increasing number of Asians performing well worldwide, Asia is a market that is ripe for expanding the game globally.

And finally…
