Yeah, I am a little late posting this. Whenever Akron and Kent State square off in anything, you can go and and expect a little lateness. It’s basically a holiday to me. And I am so pumped that Akron won.
Anyway… Justin Rose is looking sharp, and really good. He produced five birdies on the front nine Saturday, and finished the day with seven entirely. He did boggy three times, which has kept the tournament interesting for the final day.
Rose is the fifth ranked player in the world. He was four before Louis Ossthuizen passed him last weekend. A win at Abu Dhabi would be huge for him.
He said to media after his round Saturday…
behind him sits two players, both of which have been atop the leaderboard throughout the weekend. Jamie Donaldson and Thorbjorn Olesen sit at -10. It would be silly to write the two players off at this point.
Taken from the same article from above, Olesen said this about the man he will be chasing in just a few hours.
“It looks like he’s playing really well but, if I can get some birdies in quickly, I think it can be exciting,” said the 52nd-ranked Dane who is paired with Rose for the final round. “I’m going to try to be aggressive tomorrow. I thought I was pretty aggressive today but I didn’t hole the putts I needed to.”
So there you have it. Rose is currently a -148 favorite to win the tournament. His challengers are well behind that. You are getting +510 if you choose to gamble on Olesen, or you can get +670 if you choose Donaldson. Donaldson is at an inherent disadvantage because he will not be playing with the leader Sunday. I guess it could be spent into a good thing because he will “set the tempo.” However I am sure he would rather know what he has to beat.
This maybe worth waking up at a little before 4 o’clock to watch. If not, just visit this site in the morning and I will do my best to tell you what happened.
You know what, come to the site even if you do wake up.
