Good evening nighthawks!
If you are unaware, the Qatar Masters is kicking off tonight, and there are plenty of talented professionals that makes the tournament worth watching. For instance, Sergio Garcia is hoping to kick off his 2013 campaign on the right foot.
Other players of note are world’s ranked 4 Justin Rose, 5 Louis Oosthuizen, 11 Jason Dufner, 18 Peter Hanson, and 23 Ernie Els.
I would not be surprised if any of the listed above are able to win this tournament. Oosthizen already has a win under his belt. Dufner has been playing pretty good and Rose looked great last weekend. But golf is golf, and there are sure to be surprises.
Your current leader is Keith Horne. He is shooting a -3 through five holes. Horne is rather unknown, but won’t be for long if he can sustain the success. A pretty big if.
Another player that would be worth looking out for is Gonzalo Fdez-Castano. He seemed to be around the top of the leaderboard for the majority of the tournament last weekend at Abu Dhabi. I am going to try to keep tabs on him to see if he can continue his momentum and become very relevant in the near future.
Qatar is certainly the secondary tournament of the weekend. If you had to choose a tournament to watch it would probably the Farmers Insurance Open. However, Qatar is sure to be entertaining as well.
