After having a slow start to the 2013 PGA Golf season, 2011 PGA Champion Keegan Bradley started to come alive during the Florida Swing. The youngster from Woodstock Vermont finished in the top ten in three, of the four tournaments in the Sunshine State, he didn’t play at Innisbrook. What he did run into in Florida was a focused Tiger Woods. Bradley finished T 4 at The Shell Houston Open last year, and comes to Texas with his guns blazing.
“I feel like this is the Tiger I grew up watching,” Bradley told reporters after finishing tied for third at Bay Hill. The 26-year-old Bradley, whose three PGA TOUR wins include the 2011 PGA Championship, has three top-5 finishes this season. Maybe he will be one of the new breed of TOUR players to step up at Augusta National, where he finished T-27 in his 2012 debut.
Keegan Bradley hasn’t won since The Bridgestone Classic last year, but did finish the year with some momentum. He picked up a third place finish as the defending champ at Kiawah Island in a tournament that was totally dominated on the weekend by Rory McIlroy. He stumbled a bit during the playoffs by missing the cut at The Barclays, a T13 at The Deutche Bank was his best finish down the stretch, he finished the season in 8th place in the FedEx Cup standings.
Rob Bolton the PGATour.com Fantasy Reporter has Keegan Bradley in the number one position for his Power Rankings at Redstone this week.
His T3 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational was his best finish since last year’s PGA Championship (also a T3) and it was his third top five in nine starts this season. In his second appearance at Redstone, share fourth place last year.
Rob’s top five picks have Steve Stricker, Defending Champion, Hunter Mahan, Phil Mickelson, and Rory McIlroy. I find it interesting that he has Carl Pettersson, who finished as the bridesmaid here last year all the way down in tenth place.
