Tom Watson Makes His 2013 US Masters Picks (Video)

You never really associate Tom Watson with The Masters, he’s the king of the British Open, but the 2014 Ryder Cup Captain is the proud owner of two Green Jackets. He won them in 1977, and 1981. He took some time to sit down with The PGA, and share his opinions, and picks for the 2013 Masters which gets underway next Thursday morning.

The 63-year-old Watson won his Green Jackets in a day when players were dominating the tour with 275 yard drives, Persimmon head clubs, and golf balls that would have a smile on them if you hit them thin with a bladed iron. The American contenders were fighting off foreign invaders such as Gary player, and Seve Ballesteros.

He speaks to the players today, who will have an opportunity to win in 2013, but sticks with the safer picks. Players with experience at Augusta National, can hit for power, and can putt the treacherous greens. Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, and Brandt Snedeker. Or is it Brendt Sneeedeker?

Like probably most of you, I was rooting hard for Tom to become the oldest major winner a couple of years back in Scotland, where at 59 years old, came one spunky eight iron away from the victory at Muirfield.
