It’s almost 95% a possibility that Rory McIlroy will have a new Caddie on his bag for the traditional Wednesday par 3 contest at The Masters. Girl Friend Caroline Wozniacki has been asked by the world’s number two golfer to tote his new Nike Clubs for the contest. Maybe regular caddie, J.P. Fitzgerald is wanting a day off at Augusta after convincing the 23 year-old superstar to play at The Valero Texas Open this weekend.
“It has taken a lot of encouraging but Caroline’s about 95 percent agreed to caddie for me in the Par-3 Contest,” McIlroy told Sky Sports Sunday. “I’ve had my dad caddie before so it will be great to have Caroline with me this year.”
“Since meeting her she is getting into golf so I’m sure she will enjoy the experience,” McIlroy said, “despite having to wear those white overalls.”
McIlroy had his best finish of the year at TPC San Antonio on Sunday, shooting a -6 under par 66 to finish at -12 under par, two strokes of the lead, and sole possession of second place. All-in-all, McIlroy had a pretty good tournament, and can take the positive experience on to Augusta. His driver still has a few problems, but so do a lot of people, including world’s number one. Tiger Woods.
This will be the first time Wozniacki has joined McIlroy at a major tournament, but has graced the fairways of other tournaments.
