Fred Couples has the lead in the Constellation Senior Players Championship when they resume the second round on Saturday morning. The 53 year-old Couples had a three stroke lead over John Huston when play was halted due to thunder storms at the Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon. He was -7 under par and had completed the 16th hole.
The Champions Tour event got underway on Thursday in a unique four round event for the seniors and play should resume Saturday morning to finish the second round before cuts can be made. There are still too many people on the course to project a cut line.
John Huston is three strokes back, but is in the clubhouse with a two-day total of 132, at -8 under par. Jeff Hart, and Duffy Waldorf are one-stroke back at -7 under par, and both have finished the second round.
Colin Montgomerie, who turned 50 on June 23rd, makes his senior tour debut at Fox Chapel, and is at -1 under par after playing 17 holes on Friday. He is even par for his second round with one hole to complete.
