The 2013 Open Championship gets underway on Thursday, July 18 at Muirfield Golf Club in Gullane, Scotland.
Defending champion Ernie Els will open his campaign in search of his third Open title at 9:11am and is paired with current US Open champion, Justin Rose as well as Brandt Snedeker.
Tiger Woods comes into the tournament under an injury cloud after suffering an injured wrist at the US Open and hasn’t been seen on the course since. He’s taken his practice lightly this week, choosing to leave the driver in his bag. He will tee off at 2:45pm with Graeme McDowell and Louis Oosthuizen.
The weather on Thursday promises to be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching 23 degrees Celcius, with little to no wind expected.
ESPN will cover the TV coverage in America starting from 4:00am – 3:00pm ET, while BBC 2 will show the opening round throughout the UK beginning at 9:00am local time.
