Play was halted at 8:46 AM local time Sunday morning at TPC Boston during the FedEx Cup playoffs for thunderstorms and rain in the area. The Deutsche Bank Championship was scheduled to restart at 12:15 PM. They will tee off on split tees to try to get this round in so they can finish normally on Monday afternoon. Some players had teed off in the third round, but after the decision was made to re-pair players, and go off both tees, the early scores were erased, and everyone started over.
Even with all of the weather delays, the tour has only had to do a re-start twice this season, both of them coming at the wind delayed Hyundai Tournament of Champions on Maui at the start of the season. Players will be allowed to lift, clean and place this afternoon. You can follow this link to see a list of the new tee times, and pairings. Click Here.
Sergio Garcia took the lead early on Saturday, and his 13 under par stood up throughout the afternoon. Even with his 64, Roberto Castro, and Henrik Stenson got close at twelve under par. Castro shot 66, and Stenson fired a 63, as one of the hottest players on tour this season without a win, will be looking for a win this weekend.
