Is Luke Donald Trying Out For The Chicago Blackhawks?

Luke Donald has been the number one golfer in the world, won 15 professional tournaments with five of those victories coming on the PGA Tour and helped Team Europe defeat our American boys at Medinah in the 2012 Ryder Cup. Is Luke looking for a new career?

For all practical purposes, Luke Donald is an American. He came to the US to attend Northwestern University, married an American girl, and plays primarily on the PGA Tour, but the 36 year-old is an Englishman. Luke was born in Hemel Hempstead Herfordshire, England but currently makes his residence in the Chicago area in Evanston, Illinois.

If you are a Chicago area resident, you have to be a Hockey Fan, and if you are a Hockey Fan in the Chicago area you have to be a Blackhawks fan…Right?

The 17th ranked Donald attended a Chicago Blackhawks game on Sunday night, and was invited to center ice during the halftime intermission to hit a few pucks in the net.

He was asked to slide the puck in one of three holes, and failed to convert. Maybe if he had putted that way during the Ryder Cup, it would still reside here at home.

But Hey….it was all in fun, and if he could get a little more practice in before the Golf season gets underway, the Blackhawks might have a new winger if needed for another Stanley Cup run. Then again….maybe he should stick to the links!
