Fans Elect Adam Scott As Dustin Johnson’s First Round Partner

Golf Fans were asked to vote via the PGATour.com Social Media Hub to select a partner for Hyundai Tournament of Champions first round. Fresh off a Golf Writers Player of the Year award, Adam Scott was your choice. The defending champion will share the final tee-time with Scott on Friday afternoon when action gets underway at the Kapalua Plantation Golf Course.

The candidates up for pairings with the 2013 champion were 2012 FedEx Cup Champion, Brandt Snedeker, 2013 Masters Champ, Adam Scott, and 2013 two-time winner, Matt Kuchar. Scott will play with Dustin Johnson on Friday, and they will tee off last in the 30-man field.

Dustin Johnson won the event in 2013 after blowing the large portion of a four-shot lead to runner-up Steve Stricker in the final round which was played on Tuesday due to wind delays. Johnson closed the door on the 14th hole when he chipped in from the fairway for an eagle two.

The win on Maui would be DJ’s only official 2013 win. He followed up with a quality win at the WGC-HSBC Champions back in November. The WGC event was part of the new Wrap-Around 2013-2014 schedule and for the first time awards FedEx Cup, and Race to Dubai points. He is currently ranked 6th.

Adam Scott joins Zach Johnson, and Matt Kuchar as the only players at the TOC who are in the Official World Golf Rankings(OWGR) top 10.
