Preview And Tee Times: 2014 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championships

After finishing 13th last week in South Africa on Sunday,  Jamie Donaldson will begin the defense of  his 2013 Championship at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championships on Thursday morning. With the luck of the draw, the 38 year-old Welshman will tee it up with former World Number one, Rory McIlroy, and 2013 Open Champ Phil Mickelson. Donaldson is currently ranked 25th in the world, and 4th in the Race To Dubai.

The European Tour begins the Desert Swing this week at the Abu Dhabi Golf Course with undoubtedly the best field of the new year. The Worlds Number one, Tiger Woods, and two, Adam Scott  will not be in Africa, but almost everyone else will.

Sky Sports reported last week that US Open Champion, Justin Rose had to withdraw from the Abu Dhabi, and the Farmers Insurance next week at Torrey Pines due to problems with his shoulder.

It is an interesting field that will get underway on Thursday morning. For the first time in the new year, we will get a chance to see the man who won all the money last year on both the PGA, and European Tours, Henrik Stenson.

Stenson will tee off from the first hole at 1205 on Thursday as the World Number Three takes to the UAE links with former World Number One Luke Donald and 15-time European Tour winner Thomas Bjorn.
