There are only three options if you want to get on the Golf Course at Augusta National Golf Course. Play your way in, get an invitation or Buy a ticket. That’s it folks! You can’t just drive on the premises because you have a few too many Bud Lights, and decide to crash the gates. They let this idiot go the first time, but he tried to force the issue a second time and to his amazement, got arrested.
Golf.com reported on Monday that 50 year-old Joseph John Murphy was arrested on Saturday and charged with criminal trespass after trying to drive his vehicle on the property not once, but twice.
Police said Murphy tried to get onto the grounds through one of the club’s gates around 8:40 p.m. Advised that he wasn’t welcome, Murphy left, only to return about 10 minutes later. This time, Murphy drove past the security guard but was stopped soon after by police.
Murphy was not from the Augusta area, and the Augusta Chronicle did not report exactly where he was from. One thing for sure, he won’t be attending the Masters anytime soon, especially this year.
