We have been hearing all week that Tiger Woods has been hitting full shots for the past couple weeks, and now it’s official. Tiger will be playing in next weeks Quicken Loans National at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. He posted the message via his Facebook Page.
In his first start since The WGC Cadillac Championship, Tiger says he will be rusty, but wants to play himself back into competitive shape as soon as possible.
“After a lot of therapy I have recovered well and will be supporting my foundation next week at the Quicken Loans National. I’ve just started to hit full shots but it’s time to take the next step. I will be a bit rusty but I want to play myself back into competitive shape. Excited for the challenge ahead.”
Tiger Woods has been out for 11 weeks after having surgery on his back. Casual golf fans from around Facebook are eagerly awaiting his return to action.
I know I am glad to see him return to the course, and had felt all along that he would be ready to play in the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool next month.
This may be just the spark the PGA Tour needs to get this 2014 season back on-track. No one in golf puts more people in front of the television on Saturday and Sunday than Tiger when he is in contention.
