July 13-19: Open Championship

St. Andrews, St. Andrews, Scotland

Winner: Lee Westwood

Lee Westwood is coming into this year in better shape and this may finally be his time. Why not? The Open Championship has typically been won by older veterans, and Lee Westwood has been around the block multiple times. This may finally be the year Westy gets over that hump and wins a major. Hopefully, he does, I’m rooting for him and I think a lot of folks will as well if he is in contention on Sunday.

July 20-26: RBC Canadian Open

Glen Abbey GC, Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Winner: William McGirt

No matter where they play at up in Canada, William McGirt is usually finishing up near the top of the leaderboard. Whether it be at Shaughnessy, Hamilton, Glen Abbey, or Royal Montreal, McGirt has had success. This year, the Canadian Open will take place at Glen Abbey, the last time it held the Canadian Open was in 2013 when McGirt finished in a tie for 2nd.

July 27-August 2: Quicken Loans National

Robert Trent Jones GC, Gainesville, Virginia

Winner: Brendon Todd

This year the Quicken Loans National will take place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course for the first time. So, you can, basically, throw course history at the window, it won’t mean much. With that said, I’m rolling with Brendon Todd who had a breakthrough last year and will look to keep that momentum this year.

August 3-9: WGC-Bridgestone Invitational

Firestone CC, Akron, Ohio

Winner: Adam Scott

I’ve gone this far and haven’t picked Adam Scott as a winner yet. It really wouldn’t be wise to fade Adam Scott, I’ve got to pick him somewhere and given that this is a WGC event, there’s a lot to play for. So, Scott should be up for it. Plus, Scott has a good history at the WGC-Bridgestone including a win in 2011.

August 10-16: PGA Championship

Whistling Straits, Kohler, Wisconsin

Winner: Dustin Johnson

Wouldn’t it be a pretty interesting story if Dustin Johnson were to win the PGA Championship this year? After all the drama he went through and is going through he ends up winning his first major at Whistling Straits; the same course where he was penalized for grounding his club which cost him a chance at a playoff with Martin Kaymer and Bubba Watson. It would be pretty crazy, so that’s why I’m rolling with Johnson to win the PGA Championship…plus, he should be back, right?…

August 17-23: Wyndham Championship

Sedgefield CC, Greensboro, North Carolina

Winner: John Huh

The Wyndham Championship is a little bit of an unpredictable tournament in a sense that you’re not entirely sure who may play. It’s typically a tournament that not many of the notable players play in, but it’s also a tournament in which a lot of the second and third tier golfers aren’t exactly guaranteed to play in either. Getting this deep into the season, players get tired, they are emotionally drained from the PGA Championship and so they take a break here.

With that said, I’m not confident at all with my pick because I’m not even sure if he’ll play, but I’ll go with John Huh. He’s played here the last three years, pretty solid, and he is young so he’ll be okay.
