This one will just be me giving off a few of my predictions of what will happen. This was originally going to be a “bold” prediction post, but there wasn’t anything bold that I felt strongly about. Plus, one man’s bold is another man’s safe pick; Meaning bold is pretty subjective.

With that said, here are my predictions of what I’m expecting at the Masters this year. As always, you can comment below and post what you think will happen as well.

Tiger Woods misses the cut

At the time of this post was going on about how Tiger Woods was definitely playing. Well, he officially announced his return so hello delete button.

The second part still stands, though, I believe he misses the cut. Woods has the chipping yips and you have to be able to work them out in a competitive environment and Woods hasn’t played competitively in a few months. With Augusta’s roller costar greens, Woods is in for a bumpy ride next week.

Lee Westwood Best Finishing European

I suppose this would be pretty bold as a lot of folks have written off Lee Westwood. Plus, factor in the fact that he’s competing with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson, Martin Kaymer, etc.

Westwood has played some great golf this year and granted he is coming off a missed cut, but that’s really no big deal to me. In fact, I kind of like it. He played well, but scores were just really low. If he played bad, that would be one thing, but he played fine overall.

Westwood got a couple of productive competitive rounds under his belt and now heads to Augusta where he has finished near the top of the leaderboard so many times. I like Westwood’s chances next week, he is a major darkhorse.

Jim Furyk Leads After Round One

The leader after round one is usually a big name, but one that you kind of don’t really expect. I think this year it’s Jim Furyk that will hold that mantle.

Furyk is obviously a big name, but he’s not someone you would expect to lead The Masters. Kind of like Bill Haas last year. Big name, but someone you didn’t exactly expect to lead after round one.

Dustin Johnson Best Finishing American

There’s a lot of competition in this category, but ultimately I think Dustin Johnson will come out on top and be the best finishing American. Johnson comes in pretty much perfect form. Johnson has everything going for him and if he just putts decently next week, he has a chance to win.

Jason Day Best Finishing Australian

Not a real big surprise as it basically comes down to either Jason Day or Adam Scott. Scott’s swing is fine, but his putting is all over the place. Meanwhile, Day is in fantastic form. Day is peaking around the right time and I think Day may very well win the Green Jacket this year.

Rory McIlroy Doesn’t Complete Career Grand Slam…yet

Rory McIlroy will eventually win himself a Green Jacket in his career and, more than likely, will win multiple. McIlroy’s game just isn’t quite there yet and there is a lot of pressure. McIlroy has the chance to complete the career grand slam and win his third straight major.

That’s a lot on his plate and when you throw in the fact that there are so many good players that can win, the time just doesn’t look right for McIlroy. Not yet, anyway.

Dustin Johnson Wins The 2015 Masters

As you might expect, my winner is either Dustin Johnson or Jason Day. This really hasn’t changed in about two months now. I guess if I had to pick just one it would be Johnson. I just think now is Johnson’s time.

As we talked about above, Johnson’s game is right on form, but what gives him an edge this year is his mind. Johnson finally has the right mentality and that will be the difference. Johnson has the game and now the mentality of a major winner.
