The following is my list of the top 30 golf courses in the world, ranked based on the courses I would want to play on, along with overall prestige, accomplishments, and scenic views.

I was working on a one-hundred thousand word thesis on space travel, global warming, and civil liberties until I saw an internet ad of the top five hundred forty-two thousand one hundred and three Taco Bell restaurants.

It dawned on me that I should use an ad blocker. Then it occurred to me as I was more than halfway through the list and slobbering all over my keyboard that this is what the people want.

I scrapped my thesis on civil liberties because who cares about that? Let’s get into the real meat and potatoes of life and do some lists that everyone will love and enjoy!

All silly jokes aside, yes, we will be doing a list as we talk about the top 30 golf courses in the world.

We will be ranking these golf courses based on accomplishments, looks, and playability.

How many majors, Ryder Cups, etc. has a course hosted. If the best golfers in the world are playing on a course, then it must be pretty good.

Also, how pleasing to the eye is it? Nobody likes playing on a golf course with uneven fairways and patchy greens. And finally, the last criteria I used is just what golf courses would I like to play?

When I couldn’t decide between either Course A or Course B, I used that as a tiebreaker and just went with which course I would rather play on if given the choice.

It’s also important to remember this is only an opinion, not fact. So don’t take it personally.

If a course you like isn’t on here or if a course you dislike is high up on this particular list just relax. It’s not that big of a deal. It’s just a list, so no need to worry.

Now that we got all that out-of-the-way let’s rank the top 30 golf courses in the world. What could go wrong?
