4. Jack Nicklaus 6: Golden Bear Challenge

Jack Nicklaus 6: Golden Bear Challenge is one of the most underrated games and under appreciated games in gaming history.

Developed: Hypnos Entertainment

Published: Activision

Release Date: March 1999

Remember what I said about the phrase “for its time” this game was basically the G.O.A.T. back in 1999. Jack Nicklaus 6: Golden Bear Challenge was the game, man. And, you know what? This game still holds up.

Jack Nicklaus 6: Golden Bear Challenge holds up very well in the gameplay department and is still very fun. Even the graphics on this game still hold up.

Just take a look at this screenshot or this one this still looks goods. Now, it’s not the amazing graphics that we see nowadays, but it doesn’t look bad at all. It’s still very serviceable looking.

It has aged a lot better than some of the games from that era. Also, look at the menu screen, just nice, clean and straight to the point. Not a lot of whistle and bells.

The Jack Nicklaus series was a very underrated and underappreciated series. Even with a new publisher and new developer, this game just didn’t sell.

Unfortunately, this ended up being the last Jack Nicklaus game, but it went out on top.
