Get ready for your yearly fix of yellow leaderboards — The Open Championship is upon us.

The Open Championship is perhaps the most unique of golf’s four majors. While the U.S. Open and PGA Championship usually rotate through the same batch of venerable America tracks, The Open presents a challenge that is seldom seen on the PGA Tour: links golf.

This week, The Open will return to Royal Troon Golf Club for the first time since 2004. A lot has changed since then, and most of the players in this week’s field have never logged a professional round at the course. Judging by the weather forecast, it looks like they could be in for a brutally tough test.

Zach Johnson is the defending champion this week. The 40-year-old took down Marc Leishman and Louis Oosthuizen in a playoff last year for his second career major. Todd Hamilton, winner of The Open at Troon in 2004, is also in the field. He’s been forced to play a light schedule for the past few years, but he’ll hope that lightning can strike twice in the same place.

Without further ado, let’s go ten deep. Here are the best bets for success at The Open this week.
