Phil Mickelson won the PGA Championship the last time it was at Baltusrol. Who will follow in his footsteps and become the final major winner of 2016?

Golf’s major season is pretty brief. It feels like just the other day that we were celebrating the PGA Tour’s long-awaited return to Augusta National. Now, less than four short months later, it’s nearly time to say goodbye to major championship golf — but not before the 98th PGA Championship, to be held this week at New Jersey’s Baltusrol Golf Club.

At last year’s PGA Championship, Jason Day pulled off a mighty win at Whistling Straits to move to No. 3 in the world. The victory helped spark an outstanding run over which Day won seven times in 17 starts and rose to the top spot in the rankings. The last time the event was held at Baltusrol, in 2005, it was Phil Mickelson who found the winner’s circle. He edged Thomas Bjorn and Steve Elkington by one stroke for his second major title.

Known as “Glory’s Last Shot,” the PGA Championship is the final chance of the year for the PGA Tour‘s best players to nab one of the big four. So far this year, Danny Willett, Dustin Johnson and Henrik Stenson have joined the club of major winners. Will we see another first-time champion this week, or will an established major stud rise to the occasion? Only time will tell.

Without further ado, let’s go ten deep. Here are the best bets for success at the 98th PGA Championship.
