While they were left applauding the United States in the end, Team Europe turned in some strong performances at the Ryder Cup.

With my Ryder Cup grades for Team USA already released, let’s turn our attention to the European side. While Darren Clarke’s squad couldn’t pull out a fourth consecutive win at the matches, there were still a number of bright spots from the week.

For one thing, the pairing of long bombers Rory McIlroy and Thomas Pieters was a massive success, coming out on top in three matches. The Europeans also got solid performances from some of their veterans — ultimately, it was the stragglers at the bottom of the lineup who did them in.

Without further ado, let’s get to these final grades. They’re based on the same criteria I used for the Americans yesterday — be sure to look for a link to that feature on the last slide.
