As golf fans start to anticipate the big events of 2017, a holiday ticket deal may prove to be a must for THE PLAYERS Championship.

Although, we’ve technically started the new PGA Tour season, the next few weeks mark the closest thing to a true offseason that exists in the world of professional golf.

While many of the world’s best players are taking in some time off, for fans of the game this becomes a time to look ahead and anticipate the big events on the horizon for 2017.

Although the majors seem like obvious highlights for many, there’s one tour event that has earned its status as arguably the next most important to them over the years.

I am, of course, talking about the event that many fans unofficially term as the “fifth major”: THE PLAYERS Championship.

Played at the picturesque, yet treacherous TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, THE PLAYERS is a lock to draw one of the highest caliber fields to be found anywhere around the world. As a result, it produces winners of the highest quality too.

The Current world no.1, Jason Day, will be the defending champion at Sawgrass this May, likely joining other recent champions in the event such as Tiger Woods, Martin Kaymer, Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar and Henrik Stenson.

As a result, for many of the most hardcore golf fans who like to take in some of the world’s best tournament’s in person throughout the season, THE PLAYERS Championship would appear to be as cannot miss as ever.

The good news, for those considering a trip to the Sunshine State to watch the world’s best this summer, is the tournament organizers have introduced a special holiday ticket deal to make it more affordable than ever.

The details of the offer are as follows:

"A special holiday ticket package from THE PLAYERS is now available and includes two Stadium Passes, unlimited youth tickets and a limited-edition, tournament-branded Tervis tumbler for $116 (Thursday and Sunday) or $130 (Friday and Saturday). Another package is also available that includes one Weekly ticket, unlimited youth tickets as well as a limited-edition, tournament-branded Tervis tumbler for $195 (good all week). THE PLAYERS is set to return to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, May 9-14, 2017."

As Matt Rapp, former executive director at THE PLAYERS Championship, explained in a tournament press release before his recent promotion to senior vice president of championship management for the PGA Tour:

"“THE PLAYERS Stadium Pass offers unmatched fan amenities for every person onsite during the tournament and is the perfect gift this holiday season. With a Stadium Pass, fans can experience the world-class amenities THE PLAYERS has to offer, from upgraded food options to family-friendly activities, as well as the best views of the top players in the world.”"

With free admission for kids under the age of 18, and Daily Stadium Pass tickets also available for prices ranging between $20-$65, there might be no better time to make the trip to THE PLAYERS. Further details of all packages can be found on the tournament’s website, with these deals running up until January 2.
