Can Bubba Watson make it back-to-back victories at one of the PGA Tour’s oldest events?

PGA Tour fantasy managers – Don’t put away your sunglasses! The Tour is staying in California this week, traveling six hours south from Pebble Beach Golf Links to Riviera Country Club.

In operation since 1927, Riviera is one of America’s great classic layouts, and dozens of prominent players tee it up each year to show their respect.

Of course, these strong fields often lead to strong final leaderboards. This phenomenon was on full display last year, when Bubba Watson held off a chasing pack that included Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott and Matt Kuchar to claim his ninth PGA Tour victory. Weeks like that aren’t too kind to fantasy managers — who can afford to play all the biggest names in the field? — but we just have to use the information available to us and hope for the best.

A ball striker’s course, Riviera requires a player to swing his irons with confidence and to back up that confidence on the putting green. Historically speaking, it’s a rather difficult track, so birdies will be at a relative premium.

Without further ado, let’s get to my featured picks for this week. Here are five solid fantasy plays for the Genesis Open. Each player’s DraftKings salary is listed next to his name.
