PGA Championship: Picks and Predictions

AUTHOR: | IN: Ernie Els, PGA Championship, predictions, Stewart Cink, Tiger Woods | COMMENTS: Comments Off

With the final major of the year less than 24 hours away, I find myself struggling to make a decision of who to pick as my favorites for the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.  On some levels, my Tiger Woods fandom tells me he knows how big this tournament is in respect to his Ryder Cup status and perhaps his Fed Ex Cup point standings.  But on the other hand, Tiger is a head case right now and I don’t know what to expect anymore.

Ernie Els Switching Caddies for the Masters…..Say What!?

AUTHOR: | IN: Ernie Els, The Masters | COMMENTS: Comments Off

Watching golf so far this season has been fun. I mean really fun. You might not feel that way unless you’re a huge Ernie Els fan. I am. That’s why it’s been great to see Els have a great start to the year by winning the last two tournaments, the WGC-CA Championship and the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. Several guys have stepped up and played well in Tiger’s absence, but Ernie has topped them all so far. Which leads me to wonder, is his switching caddies at the Masters that big a deal?

Phil Mickelson Wins the HSBC Champions

While Phil Mickelson hasn’t had the best of years on or off the course, he’s certainly made a great run here to end the season. And he added a victory at the HSBC Champions to that run, as he held off Ernie Els to pick up the win.

Furyk and O'Hair Lead After Second Round at Deutsche Bank Championship

AUTHOR: | IN: Deutsche Bank Championship, Ernie Els, FedEx Cup Playoffs, Ian Poulter, Padraig Harrington, Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Tiger Woods | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Didn’t get a chance to watch much of the action today, as college football got underway. I watch a whole lot of golf, but thought that I’d join in on the college football fever today and watch some games. However, did see a little bit at TPC Boston, and saw enough to realize that Jim Furyk is playing very well right now. He and Sean O’Hair are your co-leaders after the second round, both at 12-under par.

Looking Back at the Barclays

AUTHOR: | IN: Ernie Els, FedEx Cup Playoffs, Padraig Harrington, The Barclays, Tiger Woods | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

It’s Monday, so let’s talk about the golf action that took place over the weekend at the Barclays in New Jersey. Trading Places So be honest, who really thought that Heath Slocum would be the one that would come out of the final round as the winner? He had four guys behind him that are all stars of the game, but yet Slocum hit the putt on 18 that I gave him no chance of hitting.
