Thanks to Fed Ex for Providing This Video

AUTHOR: Blake Lovell | IN: FedEx Cup Playoffs | COMMENTS: None Yet

Golf fans, let’s give a big thanks to Fed Ex for providing us with this video. With Fed Ex, you clearly have options. And during the U.S. Open this past weekend at Pebble Beach, it looked like players needed more options to get the ball in the hole. I’d say that there were definitely some who would have preferred to kick the ball towards the cup, as opposed to hitting the difficult shots they had to hit. It’s suppose to be hard on the professionals, but if the the rules of golf allowed the average golfer the kicking option, there [...]

FedEx Cup Point System to Stay the Same

AUTHOR: Blake Lovell | IN: FedEx Cup Playoffs | COMMENTS: None Yet

That’s right, golf fans. It seems as though there will be no changes made in the FedEx Cup point system for 2010.
Now while I thought that this year’s FedEx Cup was somewhat of a success, this is a little surprising to me. Perhaps it’s not the fact that they aren’t going to change anything, but maybe it’s the fact that they aren’t even going to discuss it is my biggest problem. 2009 FedEx Cup Playoffs: Success or Failure?

AUTHOR: Blake Lovell | IN: FedEx Cup Playoffs, Phil Mickelson, The Barclays, Tiger Woods, Tour Championship | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Now that the FedEx Cup playoffs have come and gone, it’s time to look back and decide whether or not it was a success.
I would have to say that despite some of the negativity coming in about the format and other things of that nature, this year’s FedEx Cup would have to be considered a success. Most of the tournaments were exciting, and the only real surprise of the whole thing was Heath Slocum winning The Barclays.

Phil Mickelson is Back!

AUTHOR: Blake Lovell | IN: FedEx Cup Playoffs, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Tour Championship | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

We all thought Kenny Perry would be the feel good story today if he could hold off Tiger Woods at the Tour Championship. Someone did hold off Tiger, but it wasn’t Perry. It was Phil Mickelson.
Mickelson, after being over par for the tournament after round one, finished at 9-under for the championship, three shots ahead of Tiger. I said in my predictions this week that I just hoped Phil would be in contention on Sunday, and he did me one better. He won the whole thing.

But we will have a FedEx Cup champion after the tournament at East Lake next weekend, as for who that will be…..that remains to be seen.
