Golf fans, let’s give a big thanks to Fed Ex for providing us with this video. With Fed Ex, you clearly have options. And during the U.S. Open this past weekend at Pebble Beach, it looked like players needed more options to get the ball in the hole. I’d say that there were definitely some who would have preferred to kick the ball towards the cup, as opposed to hitting the difficult shots they had to hit.
That’s right, golf fans. It seems as though there will be no changes made in the FedEx Cup point system for 2010.
Now while I thought that this year’s FedEx Cup was somewhat of a success, this is a little surprising to me. Perhaps it’s not the fact that they aren’t going to change anything, but maybe it’s the fact that they aren’t even going to discuss it is my biggest problem. Perhaps it’s not the fact that they aren’t going to change anything, but maybe it’s the fact that they aren’t even going to discuss it is my biggest problem. Couldn’t they at least look over a few things with the entire board present and see if any tweaks need to be made?

The current system isn’t perfect by any means, and while it didn’t really come back to hurt them this year, they may not be so lucky in 2010. And I still don’t like having a week off before the Tour Championship. The players may want it, but as fans, it definitely doesn’t help the so-called “playoff atmosphere.”

All in all, a little disappointed that some things weren’t changed, but we’ll have to see how things play out this season, and see if any major point problems take place during the playoffs.
