It’s Monday morning, which means it’s time to take a look back at this weekend’s action at the BMW Championship. Plenty of interesting things to talk about, so let’s get right to it:

As if there was any doubt, Tiger Woods managed to hang on to that seven shot lead heading into the final round, and won the BMW Championship today at Cog Hill.
Woods didn’t play particular great today, but it would have been kind of hard to knock off the course record for a second straight day. He shot a 3-under 68 to win the tournament by eight shots, which is vintage Tiger.
So of all the days I could have missed a round of golf, why did it have to be yesterday? And of course, what does Tiger Woods do? He shoots a Cog Hill course record (62) and sits at 16-under par for the tournament.
The next closest person to him heading into the final round? Brandt Snedeker. At 9-under, and seven shots back.
Tiger Makes His Way To the Top
In a not-so surprising turn of events at the BMW Championship, a man named Woods has found a way to get to the top of the leaderboard. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Tiger Woods is at the top.
Woods shot a round a 4-under par 67 today, and has made his way atop the leaderboard, and is currently tied with Mark Wilson at 7-under. Here’s the AP story on the day’s action.
Didn’t get a chance to see much of the action today at Cog Hill, but here’s an AP story recapping the day’s golf in Chicago.
And you can view the full leaderboard here.
Rory Sabbatini is clearly a little angry after being left off the Presidents Cup team, and shot a 5-under 66 in the first round today. But we’ll see if that can be used as momentum throughout the entire week.
Things get going today at Cog Hill, as the FedEx Cup race continues at the BMW Championship. And then things get started tomorrow for the ladies at the P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship.
In case you missed it yesterday, here’s my predictions for the BMW Championship. Let’s go Tiger!
So, if you want to catch some great professional golf, then you’ve gotta know when and where to watch it, right?
Here’s the TV schedule for the week:
The Deutsche Bank Championship has come and gone, and with that, we have a new leader in the FedEx Cup playoffs. Steve Stricker is now the man on top after overtaking Tiger Woods following the win yesterday at TPC Boston.
Here’s a few thoughts from the tournament, and a look at the FedEx Cup in general.
He played well in the first round. Not so well in the second. But now Steve Stricker is back atop the leaderboard after shooting 6-under for the day, and going to 13-under for the championship.
But, he’s joined by Sean O’Hair and Retief Goosen, who also played well enough today to stay at the top of the leaderboard heading into the final round tomorrow.
Didn’t get a chance to watch much of the action today, as college football got underway. I watch a whole lot of golf, but thought that I’d join in on the college football fever today and watch some games.
However, did see a little bit at TPC Boston, and saw enough to realize that Jim Furyk is playing very well right now. He and Sean O’Hair are your co-leaders after the second round, both at 12-under par.
A little off the routine this week, since the Deutsche Bank Championship doesn’t get started until Friday. Normally we do predictions every Wednesday morning, but we’ll push that back to tomorrow.
Today though, I want to offer up my opinion on a few of the sleeper picks to watch for this week at TPC Boston.
Without further ado, here they are:
We talked yesterday about the confusing mess that is the FedEx Cup playoffs, with the next tournament being the Deutsche Bank Championship, which gets underway on Friday (yeah, I had to edit this because I forgot this is a Fri-Mon tournament) .
Here’s a link to the updated FedEx Cup standings over at Golf.com.
The top five should come as no surprise really, because as Heath Slocum showed this past weekend, all you need is one win to move up 121 spots in the standings.
Looking Back at the Barclays
It’s Monday, so let’s talk about the golf action that took place over the weekend at the Barclays in New Jersey.
Trading Places
So be honest, who really thought that Heath Slocum would be the one that would come out of the final round as the winner? He had four guys behind him that are all stars of the game, but yet Slocum hit the putt on 18 that I gave him no chance of hitting.
