While most of the talk this past week has been about the return of Tiger Woods, I hope golf fans didn’t forget about the star-studded field playing at this weekend’s Transitions Championship at Innisbrook. There’s a familiar name currently on top as the third round is underway.

Yep, that’s right ladies and gentlemen. It appears that Tiger Woods and Padraig Harrington have been put on the clock once again. Where? At the Tour Championship this past weekend.
Remember when the two were playing together in the third round on Saturday? That’s apparently when the clocking happened. Ahhh, those pesky PGA officials. Always looking to stir something up.

After a good round yesterday, there was little doubt that Tiger Woods would make his way towards the top of the leaderboard today. Tiger is your leader after two rounds at the Tour Championship, and looks to have all the confidence in the world heading into the weekend.

The Tour Championship got off to a great start today in Atlanta, as the best players in the world kicked off the final tournament in the FedEx Cup playoffs. And fans were not disappointed, as some excellent golf took place in round number one.

In a not-so surprising turn of events at the BMW Championship, a man named Woods has found a way to get to the top of the leaderboard. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Tiger Woods is at the top.
Woods shot a round a 4-under par 67 today, and has made his way atop the leaderboard, and is currently tied with Mark Wilson at 7-under. Here’s the AP story on the day’s action.

Rory Sabbatini is clearly a little angry after being left off the Presidents Cup team, and shot a 5-under 66 in the first round today. But we’ll see if that can be used as momentum throughout the entire week.

The Deutsche Bank Championship has come and gone, and with that, we have a new leader in the FedEx Cup playoffs. Steve Stricker is now the man on top after overtaking Tiger Woods following the win yesterday at TPC Boston.
Here’s a few thoughts from the tournament, and a look at the FedEx Cup in general.

Stricker Wins the Deutsche Bank Championship

Well, he almost won at the Barclays last week. But this week, he finished the job. Steve Stricker, needing to birdie the final two holes to win the tournament outright, did just that, and won the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston.
And you know what that means. He’s now overtaken Tiger Woods as the leader in the FedEx Cup standings, and sitting pretty heading into next week.

Stricker Back on Top, But He's Got Company

He played well in the first round. Not so well in the second. But now Steve Stricker is back atop the leaderboard after shooting 6-under for the day, and going to 13-under for the championship.
But, he’s joined by Sean O’Hair and Retief Goosen, who also played well enough today to stay at the top of the leaderboard heading into the final round tomorrow.
