Well after a week off for the PGA, it’s time to kick things into high gear as the Tour Championship is upon us. Whether you like the whole playoff system or not, this will still be an exciting tournament, and will offer some suspense I’m sure.
It’s Monday morning, which means it’s time to take a look back at this weekend’s action at the BMW Championship. Plenty of interesting things to talk about, so let’s get right to it:
Tiger Makes His Way To the Top
In a not-so surprising turn of events at the BMW Championship, a man named Woods has found a way to get to the top of the leaderboard. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Tiger Woods is at the top.
Woods shot a round a 4-under par 67 today, and has made his way atop the leaderboard, and is currently tied with Mark Wilson at 7-under. Here’s the AP story on the day’s action.
The third tournament of the FedEx Cup playoffs gets going tomorrow in Chicago, as Camilo Villegas tries to defend his BMW Championship in what should be an exciting few days of golf. Here’s a video recapping some final round highlights from last year:
Didn’t get a chance to watch much of the action today, as college football got underway. I watch a whole lot of golf, but thought that I’d join in on the college football fever today and watch some games.
However, did see a little bit at TPC Boston, and saw enough to realize that Jim Furyk is playing very well right now. He and Sean O’Hair are your co-leaders after the second round, both at 12-under par.
The first round is over at the Deutsche Bank Championship, with several interesting storylines to follow heading into tomorrow.
Here’s a link to the AP story on today’s action. Also, here’s your current leaderboard heading into Saturday.
And now, here’s my thoughts on an eventful first day at TPC Boston:
The Barclays – Round 1 Recap
Well action for the day has completed at Liberty National in New Jersey, with some fairly low scores being posted on the round.
It seems that Sergio Garcia has forgot about that rough final round last week at the Wyndham, as he shares the lead at 6-under par with Steve Marino and Paul Goydos.
We all sort of wondered how Sergio would bounce back after that final round struggle last week, which concluded with the bunker shot that sort of rolled all the way around the hole before stopping an inch short. But it seems as though he has answered that with [...]
Predictions: The Barclays
It’s almost time for the first event of the FedEx Cup playoffs to get underway, with The Barclays getting started tomorrow morning at Liberty National in New Jersey.
Therefore, it’s Wednesday, and we all know what time it is: prediction time!
With that in mind, let’s get it started:
Before we start focusing on the week’s upcoming tournaments, with the Solheim Cup for the ladies and the JELD-WEN Tradition for the champions tour taking center stage, let’s take a quick look back at the 2009 major championships for the PGA.
It was a year for the underdog at the major championships, and each tournament had something very intriguing that made it unique.
Now keep in mind, I am ranking these tournaments as a whole tournament. Not just the final round, or the last two days. The tournament as a complete entity. Everyone ranks their enjoyment of a tournament in certain ways, [...]
We’re getting closer and closer to the year’s final major, as the PGA Championship kicks off tomorrow morning at Hazeltine.
And you know what that means: it’s time for predictions!
Last week’s predictions were good for the most part, but hey, that’s what happens when you pick the best player in the world to win. You’re right more often than not.
But without further ado, here are the 2009 PGA Championship predictions!
The third round of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational has concluded, and boy, are we set up for an excellent Sunday finish at Firestone.
Padraig Harrington continues to lead the tournament after shooting a 3-under 67 for today’s round. But unlike other golfers, Harrington didn’t seem to start shivering when a certain someone started charging up the leaderboard.
