A couple of days ago, I talked about the excitement that would come with seeing Rory McIlroy play an entire PGA tour schedule in 2010. Well, so much for that.

Now it seems as though McIlroy will not play on the PGA tour in 2010. That didn’t last very long, did it?

Although, I do understand where McIlroy is coming from on this. He doesn’t want to start playing tons and tons of events at his age, so it does make sense from that perspective. Of course, he’ll still participate in the major I’m sure, so you’ll still get to see him against the world’s best several times a year.

But, we just won’t see him for an entire PGA schedule like we originally thought we would.

Well it seems as though one of the future stars in the golfing world will be playing a lot more in the United States next season, as Rory McIlroy has committed to play the PGA schedule in 2010.

McIlroy certainly showed his potential at times this season, and really played some good golf overall in my opinion. He’s got a bright future and it’ll definitely be interesting to see how he fares with an entire PGA schedule.

Maybe we’ll see him get into some showdowns with guys like Tiger Woods, Padraig Harrington, and Phil Mickelson.

He seems to be confident in his game, so we’ll see how that translates for an entire year once 2010 rolls around.
