Another great day of golf, as three of the big tournaments wrapped up, with some surprising and not so surprising outcomes. Let’s get to it!
BUICK OPEN
After Retief Goosen let me down last week when I picked him to win the RBC Canadian Open, it seemed only natural that Tiger Woods would lift my spirits by winning the Buick Open this week after I picked him on Wednesday. I know, not exactly a bold prediction, but surely Tiger would win a tournament after missing a cut, right?
So another golfing Saturday has come and gone, and to no one’s surprise, Tiger Woods is leading a tournament.
Woods shot a 65 today at the Buick Open to go along with the 63 from yesterday to put him atop the leaderboard at 17-under par, while Michael Letzig bogeyed the 18th to set him one behind Tiger heading into the final round on Sunday.
John Senden is at 15-under, while Matt Bettencourt and Vaughn Taylor are both three shots off the lead.
Another exciting day of golf, with several interesting stories to talk about here. Let’s jump right into it.

John Senden is your current leader at 14-under par after shooting a 66 in the second round. Michael Letzig is at 12-under, while Vaughn Taylor and [...]
The three big tournaments for the week have kicked off today, with some interesting stories thus far.
At the Buick Open in Grand Blanc, there aren’t exactly household names topping the leaderboard after the first round of the tournament.
Steve Lowery shot a 63 to start off 9-under par, while John Senden is 8 under, and four guys ( Y.E. Yang, James Nitties, Vaughn Taylor, and Brian Vranesh) all shot 65 to stand two shots off the lead.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods is currently tied for 95th after shooting a 1-under 71 for today’s round.
Another great week of golf is in store for us, as there are great tournaments in both the PGA and LPGA this upcoming weekend.
The Buick Open will be the place for the PGA players this week, held at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
There are two big stores surrounding the Buick this week. With starters, Tiger Woods has committed to play in this year’s tournament, so that brings about some buzz heading into the first round tomorrow.
