Matt Kuchar Wins The Barclays
Honestly, it just seemed like a matter of time before it happened. “It” meaning a win for Matt Kuchar in 2010 on the PGA Tour. All season long, it has felt like Kuchar has been one of the most consistent players on tour, and he finally cashed in today, as he defeated Martin Laird in a playoff to at The Barclays. And to add to that win, Kuchar now finds himself in the lead in the race for the FedEx Cup.
Predictions: The Barclays
There’s a big week of golf on tap for the men of the PGA Tour, as The Barclays marks the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Players will look to position themselves heading into the Deutsche Bank Championship next week, and try to build momentum for the next few tournaments. While some people still don’t completely understand the entire FedEx cup format (it’s still flawed), it does usually provide us with some exciting finishes and plenty of drama down the stretch run. With that said, it’s time for predictions!
A Look Back at the 2009 Barclays
The FedEx Cup playoffs are officially in full swing this week, as the tour gets ready for The Barclays to get underway on Thursday. With it being the first event of the playoffs, there’s plenty on the line for players towards the bottom of the standings right now, and there will be plenty of suspense to see who moves on and who goes home. This year’s edition will have a lot to live up to though, as last year’s tournament had plenty of drama and ended in a very surprising way. Let’s take a look back at the 2009 edition [...]
2009 FedEx Cup Playoffs: Success or Failure?
Now that the FedEx Cup playoffs have come and gone, it’s time to look back and decide whether or not it was a success. I would have to say that despite some of the negativity coming in about the format and other things of that nature, this year’s FedEx Cup would have to be considered a success. Most of the tournaments were exciting, and the only real surprise of the whole thing was Heath Slocum winning The Barclays.
Looking Back at the Barclays
It’s Monday, so let’s talk about the golf action that took place over the weekend at the Barclays in New Jersey. Trading Places So be honest, who really thought that Heath Slocum would be the one that would come out of the final round as the winner? He had four guys behind him that are all stars of the game, but yet Slocum hit the putt on 18 that I gave him no chance of hitting.
Barclays Third Round/Safeway Classic Second Round Recap
Quick update today, so I apologize for it not being of great length. Steve Marino and Paul Goydos are your leaders at 9-under par, after both had some great rounds today. Tiger Woods is only five shots back at 4-under, and will certainly be lurking behind the leaders tomorrow evening.
Barclays/Safeway Classic Friday Evening Update
With the ladies playing on the west coast this week, and the men playing on the east coast, the times aren’t exactly evening up in terms of when play ends at both tournaments each day. So there is golf still being played at both tournaments right now (as of 5:50 CT), therefore I will just recap what has gone on thus far today in the world of professional golf.
The Barclays – Round 1 Recap
Well action for the day has completed at Liberty National in New Jersey, with some fairly low scores being posted on the round. It seems that Sergio Garcia has forgot about that rough final round last week at the Wyndham, as he shares the lead at 6-under par with Steve Marino and Paul Goydos. We all sort of wondered how Sergio would bounce back after that final round struggle last week, which concluded with the bunker shot that sort of rolled all the way around the hole before stopping an inch short. But it seems as though he has answered [...]
TV Schedule – Barclays, Safeway Classic, U.S. Amateur
Well, it’s about time for the FedEx Cup playoffs to get underway in New Jersey, as The Barclays is the first tournament in the series, while the women are in Oregon this week for the Safeway Classic. Also, the U.S. Amateur got underway yesterday, and is definitely a big tournament in the golfing world, so I’ll include the schedule for that in here as well. Here’s a look at the TV schedule for the week:
Predictions: The Barclays
It’s almost time for the first event of the FedEx Cup playoffs to get underway, with The Barclays getting started tomorrow morning at Liberty National in New Jersey. Therefore, it’s Wednesday, and we all know what time it is: prediction time! With that in mind, let’s get it started:
