Bridgestone Invitational: Picks and Predictions
Hello ladies and gentlemen. I want to thank Blake for the kind introduction yesterday as well as giving me the chance to write on PGN. With my first post I am going to do something simple and give you my predictions for this week’s Bridgestone Invitational.
We’re only a few days away from the start of the 2010 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone, and if last year’s championship was any indication as to how things would go this year, we’re set for an excellent display of golf this weekend. And you won’t have to look too far for some fine golf, as we got a chance to check out the pairings for the first two rounds today, and well, there’s one little grouping that will stand out above the rest. Tiger Woods, who may or may not have some type of ownership in this course since he’s [...]
A Look Back at the 2009 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational
While most could agree that the field for the Greenbrier Classic wasn’t as strong as it could be, the event still found a way to captivate golf fans with the low scoring…..and the really low scoring by Stuart Appleby. But this week, the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational boasts an impressive field, as both Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will be present at Firestone, and Anthony Kim makes his return after thumb surgery in May.
Some exciting news today for fans of Mr. Anthony Kim, as he will be officially returning to action next week at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. There were rumors floating around that Kim could possibly make it back for the RBC Canadian Open this past week, but that didn’t happen, so his first event back will indeed be next week at Firestone.
Quail Hollow Championship TV Schedule

The golf ratings will inevitably go up this week, with Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson both in the field at Charlotte, so it looks like we’re due for a great golf tournament this weekend. Let’s get right to the predictions!
10 Things I Learned From the 2010 Masters
Well ladies and gentlemen, it’s post-Masters Monday, which usually brings about lots of excitement, and well, a little bit of a golf hangover. Sunday at the Masters is usually the greatest day of the year for golf fans, so forgive us if we’re a little bit out of it today as we think back to how great of a tournament this was. The weekend that Phil Mickelson had was nothing short of spectacular, and his third green jacket was on that he certainly earned.
Phil Mickelson Wins the 2010 Masters
On a day where it seemed like maybe five or six guys could win the golf tournament, only one stepped up and made it his tournament to lose down the stretch. And that man was Phil Mickelson. Mickelson had a dominating performance this afternoon, shooting 5-under par on the day to finish at 16-under for the championship, and took home his third green jacket, with Lee Westwood being his closest competition at 13-under.
There were two days that we’ve been anticipating for a while now. The first was Thursday, when the first round of the Masters got underway. And the second is today, where we’ll find out who will be wearing the green jacket in Butler Cabin when play has concluded on the course later this afternoon. And if what we saw in the third round on Saturday was any indication as to what kind of day it will be, we’re set up for an amazing finish at golf’s biggest tournament.
Heading into this year’s Masters, we all knew that it was going to be a tournament unlike any other that we had seen before. And that was just the off-course stuff. But today, the on-course stuff has set us up for what may be one of the most memorable tournaments of all-time, especially because of the stars that have aligned at the top of the leaderboard at the end of day one.
