10 Things I Learned From the 2010 PGA Championship
A lot of things happened on Sunday at the 92nd PGA Championship, and people are still trying to wrap their head around just how wild this finish was. We should have known when the final round started that we were due for something out of the ordinary, since as the round progressed, you never had any type of clue as to who would win the tournament. And when we thought we had a potential winner, a bunker issue ruined that. Yes, we learned that Martin Kaymer had the game to claim his first ever major championship. But there’s a lot [...]
Predictions: 2010 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach
Ladies and gentlemen, the second major of the season has finally arrived, as the U.S. Open gets underway tomorrow at Pebble Beach. All the big names in the golfing world will take part in the event, with the big two looking to add yet another major to their impressive career resumes. But will one of the big two take home the trophy on Sunday? Let’s find out in this week’s predictions!
Predictions: St. Jude Classic
Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another round of predictions here on Pro Golf Now, as this week, we discuss the St. Jude Classic, which gets underway tomorrow from Memphis. A pretty strong field participating this week, as although the big two aren’t playing, there are still guys like Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy joining in on the action. It should be a fun tournament, so let’s get right to predictions!
Jim Furyk Wins the Verizon Heritage…..in a Very Odd Way
You don’t see many tournaments go the way that this week’s Verizon Heritage did. You had Jerry Kelly ace the same hole for the second time in his career on Thursday. You had first-round leader K.J. Choi finish eleven shots off the lead after the final round. And then you had Brian Davis give himself a two-stroke penalty in a playoff against Jim Furyk, which gave Furyk his second victory of the season.
The Art of Building Momentum in Golf…..K.J. Choi Style
In my predictions for the Verizon Heritage this week, I pretty much gave K.J. Choi no chance to win this week. Although I came out of the Masters with a new found respect for him, I just wasn’t sure that he would be able to avoid a letdown this week, in a much different setting. Well, K.J. clearly read my picks (at least I hope he did), and is out to take the tournament by storm. He has a two-shot lead heading into the second round tomorrow, after shooting a 7-under 64 in the first round today at Harbour Town.
Verizon Heritage TV Schedule
The Verizon Heritage gets underway this morning in Hilton Head, as some of the top players in the world are there to try and pick up the post-Masters victory, and try to start building momentum heading into Pebble Beach in June. In case you missed it yesterday, you can check out my predictions for the event, and see who I think will have the best week at Harbour Town.
Predictions: Verizon Heritage
Although you may still have the Masters hangover, there’s more golf to be played this week, with the Verizon Heritage taking place in Hilton Head, South Carolina. While it is hard to ever really sink your teeth into this one, it does provide us with some good golf, which is what we’re looking for. So let’s get right to the predictions for this week’s tournament.
Is Tiger the Favorite at Augusta?
When we found out a few days ago that Tiger Woods would make his return to golf at Augusta National to play in the Masters, all the speculation started turning towards whether Tiger could actually win this thing. For a guy that hasn’t played golf in quite a while, it was pretty interesting to see those comments. But this is Tiger Woods we’re talking about. Could he actually do it?
Camilo Playing Well to Start 2010
Everyone knew he had it in him. Most had been predicting that Camilo Villegas would have a breakout year for several years now. But now, it looks like he could be on the verge of his biggest season ever.
The Elite Eight: Golf Style
We’ve made it to the final eight at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, which should make for some pretty exciting golf taking place these next few days. Here’s a few predictions for today’s action.
Poll Question: Most Likely to Win a Major Next Year?
Coming off of an exciting Presidents Cup that featured a ton of great players, I was thinking about the major championships for next season.
U.S. Leads After Day One at the Presidents Cup
The first day of the Presidents Cup has come and gone, and the United States has a 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 lead over the European team. It was a great day of golf, with some pretty exciting matches taking place throughout the day. The two big teams for the United States got the job done, which was no surprise considering the pairings for the day. Here’s a small AP story on the day’s action. Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker got the easy 6 and 4 victory over Geoff Ogilvy and Ryo Ishikawa, while Phil Mickelson and Anthony Kim picked [...]
