Honda LPGA Thailand Preview and TV Schedule
The Honda LPGA Thailand is a limited field, no cut event with a top-heavy field of contenders.
The Honda LPGA Thailand will be played at the Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course. With the LPGA celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Thailand tournament Amy Yang is set to defend her title from last year.
Yang finished two strokes better than her nearest competitor after a final round of 69 to finish at thirteen under par. Yang is in her 8th year on the LPGA Tour and has two victories to her credit. She sits at 12th in the Rolex world rankings and is making just her second start on the 2016 season.
A super impressive field of female golfers will be in attendance this week including 17 of the top 20 women in the world rankings. Six past champions will be in the field this week: Suzann Pettersen, Ai Miyazato, Yani Tseng, Inbee Park, Anna Nordqvist and Amy Yang.
Also this week marks the return of world #2 Inbee Park after she withdrew from the season opening event in the Bahamas with a back injury. Park looks to be fully recovered from her injury and will be one to look out for this weekend. Inbee will be out to take her #1 ranking back this week with a good finish.
Look for a big weekend out of Anna Nordqvist. She seems to be in great form early in the 2016 season. Anna has been putting extra work in with her trainers and long practice sessions seem to have her in tip top shape. Nordqvist won this tournament in 2014 beating then world #1 Inbee Park.
There will be no cut this week and all women will play the entire four day tournament.
