Argentina: Emiliano Grillo, Fabian Gomez

There were a few candidates for the last spot on this list, but I ultimately decided to give it to the Argentinian squad. It will feature a pair of intriguing players whose medal chances might be better than you think.

Grillo is certainly the best player on this team. The young gun has notched five top 15 finishes in his last seven worldwide starts, and he found the top 20 in three of the four major championships in 2016. He’s already making a name for himself on the PGA Tour, but an Olympic gold would immediately take him to the next level.

Gomez hasn’t been nearly as impressive in recent weeks, but don’t count him out. He’s won a pair of PGA Tour events in the last 18 months, both of which featured stronger fields than that of the upcoming Olympic competition. Don’t be too surprised if he contends for the title.
